picture perfect
Well I wake up today, after being sick yesterday from something shared by my colleagues at the office, and the sky is a wonderful blue shade of happiness. The clouds are rolling with laughter, and the sun is absolutely beaming. It’s a beautiful day again–the second such day after we had a 24-hour rain storm on Sunday that washed all of the toxic particulate poison from the air into the soil and ground water supply. Welcome to Beijing!
And it’s absolutely beautiful here today and my mood is as energetic and positive as the weather. I can’t wait to see the city continue its effort to give its citizens the clean air we have enjoyed for the last 48 hours. The city is like new to me because I am seeing buildings in relation to other buildings that I have never seen before simply because the pollution didn’t allow that to be seen. Visibility is really good. Like seeing the city for the first time.
I can really understand why so many civilizations in the past worshiped the sun. It is not only an excellent source of vitamin D, it sustains the environment we need to survive. It brings life to our tiny, lonely planet. It also feels really good and looks so darned uplifting. Time for me to skip to class.
