Pacifist stew
Now what to do about those pacifists Germany and France? Boycott BMW and Mercedes? Rename foods that use the word “French” in them? There’s a big ol’ BMW plant in South Carolina. Mercedes is in Alabama. And most the foods that we use “French” in are already a slap in the face of French cuisine.
And how easy is it to draw the economic lines for protest? Best friend of mine makes his home in South Carolina, and Alabama’s home to the largest US reserve base in the country I believe. Not to mention that the traditionally “American” companies like Ford, Chrysler, and GM all now own a part of several Asian and European competitors and vice versa, so cars are out of the picture. Most products we buy in this country (and around the world) are similarly processed, manufactured, packaged, assembled, and/or distributed from somewhere else. Considering as well the “intellectual property” that can originate from anywhere in the world and is gaining legal support in US business and it’s obvious that economic lines have blurred to the point where economic protests are less clearly definable and effective. There’s got to be some German and France import that is popular with US…
Beer and wine. That’s it! We can all do without the German beers and French wines at our dinner tables. And those stinky cheeses too!
Ban with me people! Throw your $200 bottles of French wine out the window! Cease all German beer keg home delivery subscriptions! Join with me in our glorious protest and support the Saurkraut-free Dinner Tables of America Campaign!
