my Cinnamon Girl
Compared Fedora and Ubuntu with Ubuntu flavors Libuntu, Kubuntu, and Cinnamon, and Cinnamon wins hands down. Why? Because Cinnamon has lots of options to customize, which I didn’t think was necessarily and suspected would slow down my old computer but doesn’t (for me, the speed improved when I allocated HD space appropriately). More importantly, the MS WIndows-like magnifier is the best option I’ve seen so far for a low-vis superman like myself. Windows’s 2 button + mouse wheel control allows me to zoom in and out of content on the desktop without minimal left hand movement (that’s already on the keyboard,) making computer operation fast and fluid and allowing me to just focus on the task at hand instead of how to repeatedly magnify something. The Cinnamon is a 1 button + mouse wheel and can be set to start with the OS. Sweet.
Some of the other brands and flavors of Linux include little or no “accessibility” features. Along with the simple Windows-like magnifier, Cinnamon has some of the best and most options.
I could be happy for the rest of my life.
