the middle kingdom and center of the universe
China is a great country and I remain a true friend and fan. I was walking around a central Chinese city last weekend and realized that what this country is doing in such a short period of time is truely remarkable. Sure, by the standards of some of my spoiled foreign friends, China’s development is too slow or mismanaged, but some people always seem to find something to complain about.
I remain true to my original opinion: it’s good here in China.
Please read my older blog entries and you will see that I’ve been singing the same songs for years. Education, international cooperation, communication, sustainable development and more are all on my list of frequently ranted topics. Why do I live in China? When people ask me that, I often wonder why people don’t live in China because now that China is developing at break-neck speed, it has become the focus of the planet. People all over the world are praising and criticizing China as never before–to much the surprise of the Chinese people. Nothing is going to happen in China that won’t affect the entire planet, and that seems to be a good enough reason to have an interest in this country. Anyone talking about education, international cooperation, communication, and sustainable development is going to talk about China.
Some of those talkers also choose to live here.
